Expeditions for the Malopolska Hospice for Children

We Support a Hospice for Children
Pursuing the passions of sport-lovers, we want to support those who have given their entire hearts to the patients taken care of by the Malopolska Hospice for Children. This gave rise to the idea of promoting the Cracow Centre’s activities through the sport- and recreation-related initiatives. Our first initiative (on the turn of June and July 2016) was an expedition to Mount Kazbek (5033.8 masl.), one of the highest peaks of the Caucasus at the Russia-Georgia border.

Poland’s First Respite Care Centre
Thanks to the people of good will, the Hospice managed to gather necessary resources to launch Poland’s first Respite Care Centre for the Chronically and Terminally Ill Children memorial to Anna Chrzanowska. The grand opening of the Centre took place in December 2016.

Planned Cycling Trip with Residents of the Children’s Home
Another initiative will be concerned with completing a bike ride along the Green Velo Eastern Cycle Trail. This is the longest cycle trail in Poland. It measures around two thousand kilometres and crosses five voivodeships
: warmińsko-mazurskie [cf. Warmian-Masurian Province], podlaskie [cf. the Province of Podlachia], lubelskie [cf.Lublin Province], podkarpackie [cf. Subcarpathian Province] and świętokrzyskie [cf. Holy Cross Province]. We are going to cover a part of this trail with the residents of the Children’s Home in Bochnia, who would also like to bring closer to the public the idea of MHC activities.

Equipment-Related Request
In connection with the above, we also address a number of companies with a great request, asking them to make the cycling trip possible to the youth from the Children’s Home. Unfortunately, we lack some equipment. Therefore we are asking you to support our activities by providing us with equipment or enabling us to purchase bicycles for our youth at attractive prices in favour of the Hospice. This equipment could also be used at a later time by MHC during successive recreational events, such as summer camps and cycling trips.

We hope that thanks to the above-referenced trip, we will reach a greater number of people and we will bring closer to them our worthy cause and idea underlying the Respite Centre for the Chronically and Terminally Ill Children, and thus we will support the operation of the Centre concerned

Expeditions for Malopolska Hospice for Children

With you in mind we gain new peaks – let us support the Malopolska Hospice for Children www.mhd.org.pl

Pursuing our passions, we want to support those who have given their hearts to the patients taken care of by the Malopolska Hospice for Children. The first initiative to be pursued will be an expedition to Mount Kazbek (5033.8 masl.), one of the highest peaks of the Caucasus at the Russia-Georgia border. We hope that by climbing this peak, having our patients in mind, we will reach a greater number of people and we will bring closer to them our worthy cause and idea underlying the Respite Care Centre for the Chronically and Terminally Ill Children.

The Malopolska Hospice for Children is a non-governmental organisation, which has exercised care over the terminally ill children and their families in the Małopolska Province (south of Poland) for ten years now. The children are contantly staying under the hospice care, 50 patients are staying in their homes.

MHC also runs the first assistance centre in Poland, aimed at providing temporary relief to the parents and guardians of the terminally ill children, releasing them from    the difficult and burdensome everyday nursing care.

The Respite Care Centre for the Chronically and Terminally Ill Children is the childrens’ second Home, in which the youngest can feel safe and comfortable, staying outside their family homes.
